    “God Comed Alive”

Easter is a day for celebration! Jesus is alive! This morning, I got the joy of seeing our 3 year old son run down the stairs to exclaim his excitement to find Jesus (in our Play Easter Rock Garden) who had rose from the grave today. “But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Suffering with Jesus

For years, I’ve avidly avoided this kind message of purposeful suffering. I’ve ran from suffering and pursued a life of no pain. But, this last year has had way more pain than I’d ever want to go through. I know a lot of other people are going through comparable or worse things. I was thinking about this question, “What is at the core of this global fear?” I’m sure we all have lots of answers, but entertain this one that I was thinking about: The virus is killing people, and we can’t control it. This virus is destabilizing our world and showing us how short and fragile life is. Death is freaking people out! And…

    Discipleship Takes Time

A sermon a week is not a good discipleship plan. If you are a follower of Jesus and only have an hour of discipleship once a week, then your knowledge and relationship with him is going to be filled with holes. Most of us need to rethink our priorities in life to allow true discipleship to happen. Yes, we are all busy with life and a lot of it is good. But, don’t let the busyness of life stop you from taking larger amounts of time to know and follow Jesus. What fills your weekends? What are the goals in your evenings? What are you doing with you vacation time?…
