The Gospel of Jesus Christ
The gospel is the story of the majesty of God’s love and actions towards man. It would be a tragedy to think that the gospel could be explained on a webpage. But if the gospel could be summed up into a short sentence, it would be “Jesus Christ, who He was, what He did, and who He is.”
It says in the Book of the Acts of the followers of Christ in Chapter 19 that Paul reasoned in the school of And he (Paul) went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
Act 19:10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
Act 19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
Act 19:12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
The Power of the Gospel
Are You Desiring True Freedom?
Know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin. But, if the Son (Jesus Christ) shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Sin. Bondage. Wrath.
There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands; there is none that seeks after God. The price for sin is everlasting punishment, death in Hell. We are imprisoned and sentenced for our own sinful thoughts and actions. Death has passed upon all men, for all have sinned. The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.
Sinless. Holy. Just.
God’s eyes are completely pure. His righteousness is indescribable. God can’t even look upon your evilness. Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you.
The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. God showed his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He was buried, and he rose from the dead after three days. Jesus Christ swallowed the wrath for our sin, took our place and defeated death. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. Reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.
This is a simple look at the gospel. In order to be born again, the we see that we are saved by God’s might and power to free us from our sin, called grace. We grab a hold of this power through faith, which is believing and taking hold of His promises, believing them without wavering.
We recommend that you buy an ESV or KJV bible. These are Word for Word translations. Then, read it knowing and believing that it is God’s word. Take all the promises by faith without wavering. Start in the New Testament of Jesus Christ and read it through. (Good places to jump to: John, Romans, Colossians, 1 John)
This tract is based upon: John 2, John 6, Romans 6, Romans 10, 1 Corinthians 15, 1 Peter 3, Revelation 21. Take a look for yourself!
