Purpose. Healing. Freedom.
Know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Whosoever commits sin is the servant of sin. But, if the Son (Jesus Christ) shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Sin. Bondage. Wrath.
There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands;  there is none that seeks after God. The price for sin is everlasting punishment, death in Hell. We are imprisoned and sentenced for our own sinful thoughts and actions. Death has passed upon all men, for all have sinned. The fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.

Sinless. Holy. Just.
God’s eyes are completely pure. His righteousness is indescribable. God can’t even look upon your evilness. Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you.

The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. God showed his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He was buried, and he rose from the dead after three days. Jesus Christ swallowed the wrath for our sin, took our place and defeated death. For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. Reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

Law and Grace, it sounds like a harmless and almost boring message, (sorry Eric). Do not be deceived!  This sermon will literally keep you on the edge of your pew, chair, bed, ….wherever you might be! If you have ever heard Eric talk about the Legality of God, or God being bound by laws, this message actually brings these abstract concepts into practical and understandable human levels. Eric also touches on some nail-biting questions like, “did God create sin, what does it mean to be under the law or under grace, what is the law of sin and death, does the devil have power, and can God lie, steal, or kill.”

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am
not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till
heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass
from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew 5:17-18

What I most came away with after hearing this sermon, the gospel and the work of the Cross is so much more beautiful. The story of Jesus wasn’t just a nice way to show his love, but it was the only legal way for God to not compromise His character, and still rescue us who He so loved. Oh, the gospel is so Amazing!

So, there is my first sermon review.

One of the reason that I haven’t written so far is because I have been so busy! Who would have thought that you could get busy seeking the Lord. But it truly has been overwhelmingly awesome! Jesus is so worth putting every bit of your strength in knowing Him and drawing closer to Him. He doesn’t disappoint those who want more and set out on that journey for it. Faith is the steps taken in the Christian life. (The SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDANCE of things not seen). Just as Caleb had the faith and swagger to scale the mountain to defeat the family of Giants called the Anak, because he wholly trusted in the Lord!

For those who don’t know, I am now at a Mission/Bible college and discipleship training in Windsor, Colorado called Ellerslie. You can find out a lot of info at (http://www.ellerslie.com) and watch some very powerful short films that the Ellerslie student have created. Ellerslie was started by Eric & Leslie Ludy who have given their lives to the furthering  of the Gospel. But, they would be better known for their best selling books on purity. And Wow! The Life Changing truths that are taught are a pivotal foundation for any Christian’s future. Ellerslie is founded on God’s Word, and it’s authority and infallibility to rightly rule your life. And the environment is so focused and centered on seeking Jesus in His Word and Prayer.

So, I say to my brothers and sisters to wholeheartedly seek after Jesus. “Know the exchanged life” Romans 6, Galatians 2:20 (your life for His). Read books like “God’s pursuit of Man – AW TOZER”  and “They found the Secret” if you are desiring more. Also, some of the sermons here at Ellerslie are available online for free. What am I up to you ask? Wowie, I am being purged deeper and deeper. It seems that every week God is touching something different in my life. Just when you think He is done, he reveals something and shows me how vile I still am. He is faithful continue purging me daily. I am so blessed to be splurging in the Word and Prayer every day! What a Jesus!

Well, you would think that in an environment focused on the pursuit of God, there wouldn’t be much to battle. But it is on the contrary. I have never battled so fervently in my life. The body is constantly battling in prayer for one another, the ministries here and abroad, and for our family and friends at home. How life changing! It’s amazing that when you take a bold stand for Jesus, you seem to set off an alarm in the realms of darkness and become a valuable target. But, it’s truly amusing to see the wolves run from the sheep just because we are standing next to our Shepherd. We are fortified in the diamond+ strong fortress of Jesus Christ.

What are you doing next Andrew, you ask? Well, that is totally up to God’s leading. Whether it be going in to foreign missions, orphan work, a homeless mission, serving the church, more training, a season of intense prayer, local ministries…etc. I am just praying that God would send me into the harvest! And if you would pray that two, I would deeply appreciate it. Your prayers would be valued to me higher than anything I could get in this world. And BTW, I’m still at Ellerslie going through the advanced course.

I Love you all so much. May you grow ever so deeper in faith and love for God! And make sure to write me so I can rejoice or cry with you.

How’s your fruit? Let us enter through the narrow gate, and live the narrow way! Not by our strength. But by trusting and believing in Jesus and the promises of His word. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 Also, the book of Romans is filled with truths on the freedom in Christ we receive!

May God Draw You Ever So Deeper in Him!

On Nov. 20, a deacon of Bible Baptist Church was killed near his farm in Cotabato, Mindanao, a majority Muslim area. MacArthur was on his way home from his farm when he was intercepted by Muslim extremists who shot him several times before slitting his throat with his own machete.
VOM contacts were told that MacArthur had a good relationship with the Muslims and Muslim leaders, and he even learned to speak their language. The Muslims called him “Bapa” which means uncle. MacArthur talked to them about the Lord and the Muslims also tried to convert him to Islam many times, but he was steadfast in his faith in Jesus. MacArthur had been a faithful member of the Baptist Church since 1969, serving the Lord as a deacon and elder. He leaves behind his wife, Lolita, and 13 children.” – VOM

Please pray for his family and give honor to his death for the Glory of God.

Went bowling with the guys from the Rochester, Michigan area Church. What an awesome God we serve. Great fun and some serious uplifting time. How important it is to have brothers and sisters…to be apart of the family of God!

After bowling, three of us decided to publicly take a bow in honor of Our God! Otherwise know as “Tebowing,” named after Tim Tebow‘s very public and open love for Jesus Christ.

“SOMALIA: TEENAGER BEHEADED
A 17-year-old Christian was beheaded by al-Shabab extremists on Sept. 25 as he prepared for school. Al-Shabab, determined to rid Somalia of Christianity and Western influence, had carefully monitored Guled Jama Muktar and his family since their arrival from Kenya in 2008, a source told Compass Direct News. “I personally know this family as Christians who used to have secret Bible meetings in their house,” the source said.
The militants arrived at Muktar’s house around 6 a.m. after his parents had left for work.
“The neighbors heard screaming coming from the house, and then it immediately stopped,” the source told Compass Direct News. “After a while, they saw a white car leaving the homestead.” When Muktar’s parents heard about their son’s murder, they rushed home, buried his body and fled the area, fearing the militants would kill them as well. “When the incident happened, the parents called to tell me that their son had been killed and that they feared for their lives,” the source said. “Since then, I have not heard from them.”
After a string of al-Shabab kidnappings in Kenya, Kenyan military forces invaded Somalia on Sunday, Oct. 16, to combat the extremist sect, according to Associated Press reports. Kenya claims that France joined them in an attack on Oct. 23, bombing a town near an al-Shabab stronghold.
The al-Qaida-linked Al-Shabab are masters of suicide bombs, slaughtering Somali civilians, many of them Christians. While fighting the transitional Somali government for control of the country, al-Shabab imposes a strict version of Sharia, or Islamic law, in the area it controls.” Story by Voice of the Martyrs -www.persecution.com

There is not much for me to add to this story of a “Teenager” who by the risk of death, believed in Jesus Christ and associated himself with a peaceful gospel. I am so pitiful and unworthy of speaking of such great servitude. What is true honor? True honor is living and dying for Jesus Christ, for His Honor, and His Glory. Let us give glory to Christ by honoring those who died for His Kingdom! Let us pray for this family and all Christians in Somalia.

On October 25th, 2,000+ DVDs of the new 180 Documentary hit the campus of the University of Michigan. God truly blessed as U of M students got their hands on the mind convincing and heart changing film. We pray that God will use His efforts to grab hold of the hearts of the students and cause a rival of their lives!

God truly is the “Heart Changer” and He is in the business of setting people free of the bondage of sin, to serve and love Him with our whole hearts. To Him be the Glory!
